WYWCA, EHAIA and EAA ; Madang Meeting Room 1 (Booth 36) |
This interactive dialogue will examine the efforts of churches and ecumenical organisations to respond to HIV and AIDS, and particularly to address the stigma and discrimination faced by people living with HIV in communities. It will consider future responses, examining the intersections between human rights and theology, as well as some of the challenges facing young people in accessing sexual and reproductive health services in communities. Each dialogue will have a moderator who will introduce and facilitate discussion on the topic, pose questions to guest speakers and the audience. It will be an interactive environment designed to engage in dialogue across generations and to examine the role of the ecumenical family in advancing the topic. These dialogues will seek to look at practical ways of engaging young people of faith in this work, and bridging generational divides. Each session will have four guest speakers – two leaders from the ecumenical movement or churches and two young people. The audience will be encouraged to join the conversation and give additional insights into the topic.
