EHAIA ; Madang Meeting Room 1 (Booth 36)

Even though EHAIA has focused on sub-Saharan Africa, its impact is global. Its multifaceted approach has been shared in Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America, Europe and North America. Its theological literature is widely read and used in institutions of higher learning and extensively cited in research, notably in masters and doctoral theses. It has also been widely used in congregations to develop HIV-sensitive liturgies and sermons. In this session participants will engage in interactive dialogue with HIV and gender actors from different parts of the global sharing how Ecumenical HIV and AIDS Initiative in Africa pedagogical methodologies and resource materials have been utilized in a wide variety of contexts. The session will also explore how WCC can facilitate a cost effective global ecumenical HIV response after the Assembly in Busan.
